The power supply transforms power from 115V to safe, low-voltage operation, and drives the on-board movement and vacuuming motors. Ready to go right out of the box, robotic cleaners have a floating power cord that attaches to a small power supply box. Robotic Cleaners do not attach to the pool plumbing system at all they operate under their own power and have on-board debris bags or filters. Booster pump models are the most automatic of pool cleaners, with a timer turning the booster pump on/off each day automatically. There are also low-pressure models like Polaris 65 for above-ground pools and 165 and Polaris 360 for in-ground, that operate from the pressure provided by your filter pump. Suction cleaners are the most affordable cleaners, but in some cases are not as fully automatic or independent as other pool cleaner types. The suction from the pool pump creates both movement and vacuuming to trap debris in the pump basket, or an in-line leaf strainer can be used.
